Heritage Talk at St Marie’s – World War One Remembrance

Tony Miller 3Saturday 19th November 2016. 2pm till 4pm

The St Marie’s Heritage Group are delighted to invite you to attend the next of our Heritage Events at St Marie’s on Lugsdale Road, Widnes.

We’ll be joining in with the rest of the nation in November when we stop to remember the local men who died in the First World War.

Mike McNicholas will take attendees on a tour – from a personal perspective – of World War 1 War graves and the battles that led to so many deaths. He will intersperse his talk with mentions of particular Widnes men who perished at these particular battles. He will reference his book which catalogues every Widnes man who died in service 1914 -1922. (1922 was considered the “cut-off” point for deaths following injuries received in the conflicts).

Mike uses a PowerPoint presentation with photographs and engages with his audience via Q & A throughout his presentation.

To book your free place at this event, please contact Matthew Roberts via (01928) 592 405 or mroberts@haltonsthelensvca.org.uk

Please note that places are limited and your entrance may be denied if you haven’t booked a place.
